Q.4 Describe the political system of Pakistan. Which form of government is suitable to make country politically stable? 2018

The political system of Pakistan is a federal parliamentary democratic republic, with the President as the ceremonial head of state and the Prime Minister as the head of government. The government is divided into three branches: the executive, the legislative, and the judiciary.

The executive branch consists of the President, the Prime Minister, and the federal cabinet. The President is elected by an Electoral College and serves as the symbolic head of state, while the Prime Minister is elected by the National Assembly and is responsible for running the government.

The legislative branch consists of a bicameral parliament, which includes the National Assembly and the Senate. The National Assembly is the lower house of parliament and consists of 342 members, who are elected for a term of five years. The Senate is the upper house of parliament and consists of 104 members, who are elected for a term of six years.

The judiciary consists of the Supreme Court, provincial high courts, and district courts. The Supreme Court is the highest court in the country and is responsible for interpreting the constitution and the laws of the country.

To make Pakistan politically stable, a system of government that emphasizes accountability, transparency, and the rule of law is necessary. A parliamentary democratic system, where the people elect their representatives to the government, can be effective in promoting political stability, as it ensures that the government is accountable to the people.

However, for a parliamentary democracy to work effectively, strong and independent institutions are necessary, such as an independent judiciary, a free and independent media, and a strong civil society. These institutions can play a critical role in promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance.

In conclusion, the political system of Pakistan is a federal parliamentary democratic republic, with the President as the ceremonial head of state and the Prime Minister as the head of government. To make the country politically stable, a system of government that emphasizes accountability, transparency, and the rule of law is necessary, with strong and independent institutions that can promote good governance.
